Warrnambool College is a founding member of The Academy of Accredited SEAL Schools (TAASS)

The College has the only TAASS accredited Learning Program in South West Victoria.

SEAL is a Program for the top 5 – 10% of students. Research has consistently documented that these students learn best when placed with their intellectual peers.

The PhoenIX Program began for Year 9 at Warrnambool College in 2008. It has been shaped by extensive research into the Middle Years of Learning and the evolving landscape of the knowledge of this age – in particular the need for life-long learning skills. What is clear from this research is the unmistakable shift in focus from the teacher to the learner and the need to engage students in learning that links to real-life, hands-on experiences. As such, the Phoenix program offers students a range of opportunities to participate in excursions, workshops and inquiry-based projects in order to engage in multiple ways with the content.

Warrnambool College offers the only Sporting Pathway Program outside of the major cities in Victoria. This new initiative aims to use the passion of sport to engage and expand a student’s learning opportunities at our school. This program involves partnerships with the Exercise and Health Science Faculty at Federation University – Ballarat campus, and a range of elite local coaches and qualified fitness instructors.
