HPC

The Warrnambool College High Performance Centre was officially opened Term 2 2016. This facility is not only a vital resource for the Sporting Pathway Program but also provides a wonderful learning opportunity for our senior VCE Physical Education students to experience practical activities that helps their knowledge and understanding of the theory concepts covered in VCE Physical Education.

The High Performance Centre is equipped with state of the art IC7 Matrix Spin Cycles. We made the decision to ensure the HPC was equipped with high end sport science equipment to allow students the opportunity to track heart rate zones, complete maximal wattage tests and to train by colour coded training zones that are displayed on the fully functional computer systems on each bike. These computers take the guess work out of the intensity level an individual should be working at. Once a student completes the maximal wattage test the computer does the rest and calculates the individual training zones for each student. Click on this website to see the IC7 Spin Bikes full specifications and function details.

The HPC is also equipped with the latest weight training facilities to enable our strength & conditioning coach to provide fully comprehensive Strength and Conditioning programs for all students. Linked to the HPC is the fitness hub of the school which includes a fully functioning TRX training zone and spring loaded floor space to complete high intensity fitness and strength activities such as battling ropes, kettle bell activities and a range of plyometric exercises to increase power and proprioception.
